Mangshi Sports Center, will undertake the 7th Yunnan Province Farmers Sport, will be finished in March 2008.

       The being built sports center takes up an area of 300 mu, comprises playground, gymnasium and bathing field, invests approximately 230 million yuan. The project is the largest and most perfect sports establishment in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture.

       The reporter learned that the sports center gives prominence to ethnic culture features. Its roof is designed to bamboo cap of Dai nationality and the outline to bamboo house of Jingpo nationality. In sports park, it is added peacocks, elephants and gems etc. The sculptures reflecting traditional athletic sports of five generational inhabited nationalities, such as Dai's boxing, Jingpo's sword dancing, Deang's stick dancing, Achang's toxophily and Lisu's crossbow shooting, emerges in the center. Around the playing field, there are also 36 elephant-foot drums made of irons.
